Chocolate-lined cannoli from Brooklyn DOP in Park Slope.
What we liked: The chocolate-lined shell was extremely crunchy and surprisingly not overly sweet. The cannoli was filled on the spot and garnished with candied orange. The filling was chilled and had an authentic ricotta taste.
What could be better: Overall the cannoli just lacked a bit of flavor, even though each component appeared to be fresh and authentic. The filling was a bit gritty and cheesy. Despite being crunchy and lined with chocolate, the shell was mainly a vehicle for the cream. The candied orange was pretty but overpowered the other flavors of the cannoli with citrus.
