Surprisingly good cannoli from this Manhattan institution.
What we liked: I have to admit, I had a bad cannoli from Ferrara at San Gennaro a few years ago, so I had low expectations for this review. But I was proven wrong—this cannoli from the brick and mortar was great. The shell was very crunchy and flaky. The cream was thick, a little on the sweet side, but very tasty. Overall a pretty enjoyable cannoli.
What could be better: Not the most eye-appealing cannoli, and lacking a little bit of depth. No cinnamon or spices, mostly just sweet cream and pastry flavors coming through.
