Goats milk cannoli from Gian Piero Bakery in Astoria, NY.
What we liked: This cannoli felt authentically Italian, made with goats milk cream and decorated with candied fruit. The shell had a nice taste and the cream was sturdy and had a few chocolate chips floating inside.
What could be better: The cannoli didn’t taste super fresh. The shell was a tad bit soft, and the cream had a slightly funky taste. I’m not sure if the taste was just something with the goats milk or if the cream had actually gone bad. It didn’t taste terrible, but wasn’t the flavor profile that I usually enjoy in a cannoli.
